These caves were discovered only 50 years ago while mining in a nearby quarry. We will spend the night in a former royal town of Beroun.

Distance: 40 km / 25 miles
Description of the day: We will start the day off by being transferred to the town of Rokycany, where we will get on our bikes and head south to a former military town of Mirosovice. A Baroque castle, which was badly damaged during the communist regime, has undergone a major reconstruction and its beauty will be inviting us to visit its interior. From Mirosovice, we will ride through a wooded region all the way to the Kozel Castle, which used to be a hunting and entertainment estate of the highest Czech nobility of the second half of 18th century. The mountain premium of this stage in the form of a breathtaking view of the area awaits those, who will not get discouraged by a 200 m altitude difference of the Radyne Castle. The others can be driven up by the support vehicle or go ahead towards the oldest building in West Bohemia - the Rotunda in Stary Plzenec. We will conclude this stage in the center of the Czech brewing industry - in the town of Pilsen, where we will be able to fully enjoy pints of the famous Pilsner Urquell.

Day 4 - Plzen - Klatovy
Distance: 60 km / 37 miles
First thing in the morning, we will go for a sightseeing tour of Pilsen, we can also visit the famous brewery. After that we will get on our bikes and head south again. First, we will go along the Radbuza River and after couple kilometers we will continue upstream the Uhlava River all the way to Klatovy. The town of Klatovy, founded in 1260, is frequently called "The Gate to the Sumava Mountains". Among its interesting sights belong the Black Tower, an old square, as well as catacombs with approximately 200 mummified bodies of Jesuit monks. Just before we reach the final destination of the day, we will have just enough time to visit a well-preserved Svihov Water Castle, from the end of the 15th century, or the Merklin Castle.

Day 5 - Klatovy - Cham (Germany)
Distance: 47 km / 26 miles
Transfering either by car or by train to Domazlice, we will reach the center of the Chodsko region. In the feudal times, the local farmers and peasants had forced the noblemen to give them freedom for their services - protection of the boarder against attacks from the neighboring Germans. Because of this set-up, this region has developed differently. New customs were created along with a musical instrument characteristic for this region - the bagpipes. From here, we will continue our journey by bike to the small town of Kdyne and then we will continue through the former boarder area along the iron curtain to the German boarder town of Furth im Wald, which is famous for its dragon celebrations. Our route will lead us through the valley of the Cham River to the confluence with the Regen River, along which we will continue downstream to an old business town of Cham with a well preserved Beer Gate, the main square and a town hall.

Day 6 - Cham - Nittenau
Distance: 45 km / 28 miles
At first we will go through the town of Roding, which origins go back all the way to the year 844 and its two ancient monasteries. The Walderbuch Monastery along with the Monastery in the town of Rheinbachu nearby were built in the 12th century. Viewing the well-preserved mural paintings should be the highlight of this stage. We will spend the night in the town of Nittenau, which is proud of its thousand-year old history. The local Bodenstein Castle is the most significant building here and therefore should be visited as well.

Day 7 - Nittenau - Regensburg
Distance: 41 km / 25 miles
We will spend this last day, in the company of the Regen River, which will lead us to the second oldest town in Germany, which is the final destination of our week-long trip. Since today stage is relatively short, there will definitely be enough time to go for a dip in one of the many swimming areas located along the way. Visiting the Rampsau Village, its majestic castle and picturesque main square is definitely worthwhile as well. Those, who will be still full of energy, can go on a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the valley of the Regen River, which one can enjoy from the viewtower of the Karlstein Castle in Regenstauf. Others can rest in one of the many local restaurants. From here, we are just a skip away from Regensburg and our journey will be slowly coming to a close.

Day 8 - Regensburg
The last remaining sites on our "to visit list" are a picturesque square with a majestic cathedral, an ancient bridge and a stroll through narrow streets. There are more then enough sights to visit here since this town was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. More than 1 500 memorials of its two thousand year old history await you
